Beads: Natural Serpentine stone or “Afghanistan Jade”
Length: 16.5”
Clasp components are all sterling silver
The Remnant Necklace. I am simply in love.
This design is so resonant with my spirit as an artist - timeless, grounded, organic. The pendant is cast with reclaimed sterling silver into tufa stone, a compressed volcanic ash. This technique originated with the Navajo (Diné) people in the late 1800s and is a lineage I hold with deep respect and reverence as I continue to practice with it.
Each Remnant Necklace has it’s own unique blueprint pulled from the tufa casting. No two are the same and a few are more organically shaped than others.
Each Remnant Necklace carries its own unique blueprint pulled from the tufa stone. No two are the same - some more organically shaped than others, each one its own quiet record of the process.
A note to my fellow humans: my pieces come with a little grit. Each step in the creation of this piece was hand done, slowly and mindfully. Imperfections are part of the beauty of each handmade piece and are intentionally left behind to help tell the story of its creation and retain its soul. No two pieces are the same, ever.
